TC-32 MINI THERMAL CYCLER

“Mini sized” doesn’t have to mean a sacrifice on features and performance. Benchmark’s TC-32 Mini Thermal Cycler retains the advanced programming features, easy to use software and fast, reliable cycling of the larger TC-9639 Thermal Cycler, but with a smaller block and lower price point.


Designed for lower throughput needs, the TC-32 Mini Thermal Cycler has a capacity for 32×0.2ml tubes. The wells are arranged in a 4×8 format, allowing the block to accept strips of 8 as well as individual tubes. The block heats and cools very quickly – at rates as fast as 5°C/second. A proprietary algorithm controls block temperature, bringing samples quickly to the target temperature without any over- or under-shoot. Excellent block uniformity ensures consistency sample to sample.

Operation of the thermal cycler is controlled from the large, full color, touch screen. Icon driven menus allow users to get running quickly. Programming is extremely simple and includes options for time and temperature increment/decrements, adjustable ramp rates, and an auto pause and restart functions. More than 100 typical programs can be stored in memory and easily recalled. After a run, samples can be held at 4°C. An on-screen report is also available at the completion of a run.

The heated lid is self adjusting – the spring loaded platen in the lid comes firmly into contact with the tops of the tubes to prevent sample evaporation and condensation. There are no knobs to turn or levers to adjust. The temperature of the heated lid can be changed or the heating function of the lid may be turned off.

With a footprint less than that of the average laboratory notebook, the TC-32 Mini Thermal Cycler will fit almost anywhere. Its reduced capacity block and economical price make the TC-32 Mini Thermal Cycler the perfect choice for lower throughput laboratories and educational facilities.

TC9639 THERMAL CYCLER

Benchmark’s TC9639 Thermal Cycler provides consistent, reliable results for laboratories with medium to high throughput. From its large, touch-screen user interface to its unique, multi-format block, this cycler is loaded with features. The program wizard and 10 preinstalled programs make it easier than ever to get up and running.

large, full color touch screen serves as the operations center where all functions are accessed. From the “Home” screen, simply touch an icon to view the last run program, enter the program library, or use the program wizard to quickly enter a protocol. In addition, icons for favorite programs can be added for faster access.

The program wizard guides users through quickly setting up a protocol in a single screen. Once entered, programs are shown graphically, and can be edited by simply touching the step that requires modification. Time and temperature increments can be built into programs as well as slower ramp rates. Storage capabilities are unlimited; programs can be stored in public folders, private (password protected) folders or on a flash drive. The full virtual keyboard allows for alphanumeric naming of programs and folders.

The fully adjustable heated lid prevents condensation and evaporation of samples. Lid temperature can be programmed, and when the block temperature is below 35°, the lid automatically shuts off. Heating and cooling of the block are precisely and accurately controlled within exceptionally tight tolerances by a proprietary algorithm that simulates sample temperature.

With the multi-format block, there is no need for the expense of multiple interchangeable blocks. The TC 9639 has the flexibility to accept 96×0.2ml tubes, a 96 well plate, 0.2ml strips or 39 x 0.5ml tubes all in the same sample block. For protocol optimization, a gradient can be set up across the block.  An optional in-situ adapter allows for incubation of slides. Additionally, the unit may be purchased with a 384 well sample block.

Accuris One-Step RT-PCR Kit

The Accuris One-Step RT-PCR Kit has been formulated for cDNA synthesis and subsequent PCR in a single tube for end-point analysis. This latest generation RT-PCR Kit consists of an MMLV-derived, thermostable Reverse Transcriptase (45°C to 55°C), an advanced RNase Inhibitor and Accuris Hot Start Taq for ultra-sensitive one-step RT-PCR from as little as 1pg total RNA starting material.
 

The optimized buffer chemistry allows for efficient reverse transcription and PCR of problematic sequences with significant secondary structure (such as GC-rich targets). The Accuris One-Step RT-PCR Kit is ideal for determining the presence or absence of RNA templates and quantifying expression through qualitative analysis of RNA transcription levels. The kit also efficiently synthesizes double-stranded cDNA for subsequent gene expression analysis.

Accuris dNTPs

The success of your PCR reaction depends on the quality of the starting materials. Accuris dNTP’s are purified by HPLC in a strict process that results in greater than 99% purity. The stringent purification process eliminates PCR inhibitors such as tetraphosphates and pyrophosphates that can interfere with the sensitivity of your PCR and reduce yields. Extensive quality control testing is performed to ensure the dNTPs are free of nuclease, protease and nickase activity. Each lot is performance tested in standard PCR, long PCR and qPCR reactions to assess reproducibility and sensitivity.
 

The 40mM dNTP Mix is a single tube that contains premixed dNTPs at a concentration of 10mM each. The 100mM dNTP Set contains four individual tubes, one each of dATP, dCTP, dGTP and dTTP. The nucleotides are supplied in ultra-pure water as an ammonium salt. Both the set and mix are stable for 24 months when stored at -20ºC.

Accuris Taq

Accuris Taq provides superior results for routine applications. Modified to improve DNA-binding, this polymerase offers higher solubility and greater template affinity, resulting in consistently superior performance. Accuris Taq Polymerase exhibits a 5′ to 3′ nuclease activity, but no 3′ to 5′ (proofreading) activity and works well with a wide range of DNA templates including GC-rich sequences.
 
The polymerase is supplied with a 5X buffer containing MgCl2 and proprietary mix of enhancers (dNTP’s not included). For convenience, Accuris Taq is also available in a ready to use 2X Master Mix – just add primers and template DNA. Our “Red Dye” Master Mix incorporates a red loading dye that allows amplified samples to be loaded directly on an agarose gel.  The red color aids in visualization during pipetting, and higher density of the buffer ensures that the samples will drop into the gel wells.

Accuris Hot Star Taq

Engineered for controlled polymerase activity, Accuris Hot Start Taq is bound with a monoclonal antibody that blocks enzyme activity. This allows reactions to be set up at room temperature without the risk of non-specific amplification.
 
When samples are ready, the reaction mixture is heated to 95°C to denature the antibody and initiate the reaction. Similar to the standard Accuris Taq, Hot Start Taq is provided with a 5X buffer, or in a ready to use 2X Master Mix. The Master Mix can be ordered with or without an incorporated red gel loading dye.  The Red Dye Master Mix incorporates a red loading dye that allows amplified samples to be loaded directly on an agarose gel.  The red color aids in visualization during pipetting, and higher density of the buffer ensures that the samples will drop into the gel wells.

Accuris Taq Plus

Accuris Taq Plus, an optimized blend of our Hot Start Taq and a proofreading polymerase, provides 5 times better fidelity than wild-type Taq and increased enzyme activity. It is the perfect choice for GC and AT rich templates, low copy number and long PCR.
 
The 3′-5′ exonuclease activity of the proofreading enzyme produces fragments suitable for TA cloning. Accuris Taq Plus is provided with a 5X buffer (dNTPs not included) or in a convenient one tube 2X Master Mix.

Accuris High Fidelity Polymerase

Modified for better solubility and higher activity across a broad range of ionic conditions, this polymerase will amplify a wide range of targets, including those that are GC or AT rich as well as crude samples.
 
A 3′-5′ proofreading exonuclease activity and an error rate of 4.55×10-7 makes Accuris High Fidelity DNA Polymerase the perfect partner for cloning applications. The supplied 5X buffer with dNTPs is optimized for compatibility with a variety of targets.

Accuris Mammalian Genotyping Kit

Traditionally, mammalian genotyping protocols have involved Proteinase K digestion, neutralization, organic extraction and lots of hands on time to get PCR-ready DNA.

The Accuris Mammalian Genotyping Kit is quick and easy to use – add sample to the proprietary lysis buffer and incubate for 5-10 minutes, then add the deactivation buffer and incubate for 10 minutes. The crude lysate can then be amplified using fast PCR Accuris Hot Start Taq Master Mix with red loading dye (included). The kit contains everything needed – just add sample and primers.
