The YSI ProDSS (digital sampling system) handheld multiparameter meter provides extreme flexibility with two main cable options. Choose between the fully loaded 4-port cable assembly outfitted with any four DSS sensors (with depth or no depth) or the ODO/CT probe and cable - where you get accurate DO measurements every time with an optical dissolved oxygen sensor with an inline conductivity sensor, allowing for real-time salinity compensation.

Dissolved oxygen measurement technology has advanced from electrochemical sensors, such as polarographic and galvanic, to luminescent-based, optical sensors. YSI optical DO sensors are non-consumptive, meaning oxygen is not consumed during the measurement. As a result, there is no flow dependence or stirring required with ODO, allowing for the most accurate readings in the field.

Advantages over electrochemical sensors include:

• Higher accuracy with no stir dependence
• Less drift over time; holds calibration longer
• Less maintenance; no membranes or electrolyte

Real-Time Salinity Compensation

With an integral conductivity module, the ODO/CT probe assembly enables the ProSolo to automatically compensate DO mg/L measurements for changes in salinity. The 4-electrode conductivity cell, designed for rugged field performance, is easily cleaned and requires minimal maintenance.

The IDS OBOD probe (optical) and the IDS 4100 BOD probe (polarographic) can be used for wastewater compliance reporting of BOD and CBOD. Available IDS pH and conductivity sensors can also be used for drinking water and wastewater compliance reporting.

Connect digital IDS sensors to the MultiLab 4010-1W for the measurement of DO/BOD, pH, ORP, and conductivity. Data can be conveniently printed from the instrument via the optional integrated printer (4010P-1W).
