Benchmark’s BenchMixer XLQ has been designed for use in QuEChERS and other sample prep methods. Supplied with racks for 50ml tubes held horizontally and 15ml and 1.5/2.0ml tubes held vertically, it takes the place of traditional manual shaking in these applications.
Multiple samples can be processed simultaneously in the Benchmixer XLQ’s large capacity racks, saving time and preventing operator fatigue. The vigorous, consistent shaking ensures all samples are exposed to identical conditions within the same batch of samples, as well as between batches.
Using the BenchMixer XLQ is simple. To load the sample racks, loosen the knobs on the stationary steel rods and raise the top sample plate. One rod is shorter than the other, allowing the plate to be lifted up and swiveled to one side. After samples are loaded, lower the plate into place and tighten the knobs. Select the desired speed and run time on the digital control panel and press start. The BenchMixer XLQ can perform unattended mixing for as little as 1 minute or up to 100 hours.

The BenchMixer™ XL is a heavy duty vortex mixer designed to facilitate hands-free mixing in tubes, flasks, vials or cylinders. It is ideal for the QuEChERS pesticide analysis method and is instantly adaptable to an exceptionally broad range of vessels, racks and applications (horizontal or vertical). The precisely balanced drive system includes an oversized motor that delivers accurate, reproducible speeds up to 2500rpm with rattle-free operation and minimal vibration. | SPRINT™ 6H CLINICAL CENTRIFUGE
The Sprint™ 6H is a compact centrifuge that includes a six position, swing-out rotor. Prior to centrifugation, tubes are loaded vertically. Once the centrifuge starts, tubes swing to a horizontal position, providing the flat-line separation that is commonly preferred for further analysis.
Designed for use with 10ml tubes (16 x 100mm), smaller tubes (12 x 75mm and 12 x 100mm) can be centrifuged using the optional adapters (item: C3100-ADP).
With intuitive controls and a large LED display, virtually no programming or setup is required prior to starting a cycle. Simply select the run time and press “START”. The safety lid-lock is engaged and the rotor quickly and smoothly accelerates to 3,400 rpm. Once the run time is completed (or the “STOP” button is pressed) the rotor comes to a complete stop and the lid lock is disengaged for removal of samples.
| LC-8™ CENTRIFUGEBenchmark’s LC-8 series of laboratory centrifuges is uniquely designed to meet a wide range of applications in both the clinical and research laboratory. Benchmark’s new handheld homogenizer, the D1000, is designed to rapidly homogenize, emulsify, suspend and disrupt biological samples. Ideal for use with microtubes, the homogenizer works well with samples from 0.1ml to 250ml (depending upon the generator probe used).
Generator probes are available in four sizes. The 5mm and 7mm diameter have a 50mm length for use with samples in microbtubes. The 10mm x 115mm is ideal for use with 15 and 50ml tubes and 14mm x 130 mm, for 50ml tubes and vessels up to 250ml. The unit is supplied with one each of the 5mm and 7mm generator probes. All the generator probes are made of stainless steel and can be sterilized by autoclaving.

TUBE ROLLER
Benchmark TubeRollers are designed for the gentle, thorough mixing of a variety of containers, including Vacutainers™, bottles, test tubes, centrifuge tubes and roller bottles. Both models (5 roller and 10 roller) operate at a constant 38rpm, chosen as the optimum speed for the broadest range of mixing requirements.
As the roller mechanism rotates through each complete revolution, the right side of each roller is gently elevated about 0.5 in (13mm) and returns to the horizontal starting position. This additional, gentle up/down motion provides a “wave” effect and guarantees that the entire sample is subjected to complete, thorough mixing, end to end. This built in tilt feature provides a level of homogeneous mixing uniformity that can not be matched by any stationary roller apparatus.

| ROTO-THERM™ INCUBATED TUBE ROTATORS
Benchmark’s new Roto-Therm series of incubated rotating mixers provide a wide range of mixing capabilities. Suitable for an array of laboratory applications including resuspension, protein binding, nucleic acid purification, histochemistry, hybridization etc, the mixers include interchangeable tube holders for accomomodating all common tube sizes from 0.5ml to 50ml. The motion can be adjusted from verical (end over end) mixing, to horizontal (rolling or hybridization style) mixing.
For applications requiring temperature control, the Roto-Therm series can be digitally programmed to maintain chamber temperatures of ambient +5°C to 60°C and include an “in-lab” calibration function for ensuring accurate temperature control. The Roto-Therm is also available in a “Plus” configuration, providing the following additional features:

| ROTO-BOT™ PROGRAMMABLE ROTATORS
The RotoBot™ Rotating Mixers feature advanced programming options that far surpass that of the traditional laboratory rotator. With digital speed control and more than 10 operating modes, the RotoBot can be selected to perform a wide variety of rotating, mixing and vibrating actions. In addition, these actions can be combined in succession using the C1 and C2 “Custom Modes” , providing the user with a nearly infinite level of programming.
The RotoBot and RotoBot Mini each inlcude an assortment of vertical tube holders. The Mini model is supplied with holders for 12 x 1.5ml tubes, 2 x 15ml & 2 x 50ml tubes; the standard model, 30 x 1.5/2.0ml, 8 x 15ml & 2 x 50ml tubes. For higher capacity applications, more of these holders can be purchased as accessories. In addition, horizontal holders are available for applications such as Western blotting and hybridization. The unique, sliding attachment allows for quick and easy changing of tube holders.
For rocking applications, a platform with a non-slip rubber mat is available. Once attached, simply select the “PP” mode to turn the rotator into a platform rocker.
| ROTATING MIXER
The Benchmark Rotating Mixer provides gentle to vigorous mixing of laboratory samples up to 50ml. With adjustable speed control and tilt angle, the Rotating Mixer is ideal for a variety of applications, from mixing blood samples to the preparation of homogenous dispersions.
Three rotisserie tube holders are included for mixing all common laboratory sample tubes and each individual tube holder is rubber coated to provide a secure grip, preventing any “wobble” or loosening during mixing at high speeds. For more intense mixing, a unique reversing mode is available. In reversing mode, the mixer rotates for up to 360° then stops and rotates in the reverse direction. This back and forth motion occurs repeatedly until the set time has expired.

SURETHERM™ CO₂ INCUBATOR SERIES WITH INCUVIEW™ LCI
| MYTEMP™ MINI CO2
At only 13 inches wide, the myTemp Mini CO2 is the smallest and most economical incubator for applications requiring CO2 gas control. Its small footprint makes the incubator ideal for use inside of biological safety cabinets, isolating sensitive cultures or for any laboratory simply trying to conserve bench space. With a thick layer of high efficiency insulation surrounding the chamber, the incubator is also ideal for transportation of cells. Once power has been disconnected, the incubator maintains temperature levels within 10% of the set parameter for up to 1 hour*. In addition
each model includes a 12V vehicle power adapter for operating the instrument in a car, boat, etc. Both temperature and CO2 percentage are digitally adjustable and displayed in real time on the large LED control panel. This panel also features a “Cal” function, for easy in-lab calibration of the temperature or CO2. In addition, humidity (up to 80%) can be added to the chamber by inserting the included (stainless steel) humidity reservoir. The CO2 level is constantly monitored using dual beam infrared sensing technology. In the event of a drop in CO2 , audible and visual alarms are triggered, notifying the user of the error. Despite its small size, the incubator features a relatively large 20L chamber with the capacity for flasks and bottles up to 2 liters. Two removable, stainless-steel shelves are included. TC-32 MINI THERMAL CYCLER
“Mini sized” doesn’t have to mean a sacrifice on features and performance. Benchmark’s TC-32 Mini Thermal Cycler retains the advanced programming features, easy to use software and fast, reliable cycling of the larger TC-9639 Thermal Cycler, but with a smaller block and lower price point.
Operation of the thermal cycler is controlled from the large, full color, touch screen. Icon driven menus allow users to get running quickly. Programming is extremely simple and includes options for time and temperature increment/decrements, adjustable ramp rates, and an auto pause and restart functions. More than 100 typical programs can be stored in memory and easily recalled. After a run, samples can be held at 4°C. An on-screen report is also available at the completion of a run. The heated lid is self adjusting – the spring loaded platen in the lid comes firmly into contact with the tops of the tubes to prevent sample evaporation and condensation. There are no knobs to turn or levers to adjust. The temperature of the heated lid can be changed or the heating function of the lid may be turned off.

| TC9639 THERMAL CYCLER
Benchmark’s TC9639 Thermal Cycler provides consistent, reliable results for laboratories with medium to high throughput. From its large, touch-screen user interface to its unique, multi-format block, this cycler is loaded with features. The program wizard and 10 preinstalled programs make it easier than ever to get up and running.
A large, full color touch screen serves as the operations center where all functions are accessed. From the “Home” screen, simply touch an icon to view the last run program, enter the program library, or use the program wizard to quickly enter a protocol. In addition, icons for favorite programs can be added for faster access. The program wizard guides users through quickly setting up a protocol in a single screen. Once entered, programs are shown graphically, and can be edited by simply touching the step that requires modification. Time and temperature increments can be built into programs as well as slower ramp rates. Storage capabilities are unlimited; programs can be stored in public folders, private (password protected) folders or on a flash drive. The full virtual keyboard allows for alphanumeric naming of programs and folders. The fully adjustable heated lid prevents condensation and evaporation of samples. Lid temperature can be programmed, and when the block temperature is below 35°, the lid automatically shuts off. Heating and cooling of the block are precisely and accurately controlled within exceptionally tight tolerances by a proprietary algorithm that simulates sample temperature. With the multi-format block, there is no need for the expense of multiple interchangeable blocks. The TC 9639 has the flexibility to accept 96×0.2ml tubes, a 96 well plate, 0.2ml strips or 39 x 0.5ml tubes all in the same sample block. For protocol optimization, a gradient can be set up across the block. An optional in-situ adapter allows for incubation of slides. Additionally, the unit may be purchased with a 384 well sample block.

BIOCLAVE™ RESEARCH STERILIZERSDespite the space-saving exterior dimensions of the Bioclaves, the stainless steel chambers are surprisingly large, accommodating a variety of liquids, media, instruments, glassware, plasticware and other common research laboratory items. Both of these benchtop models include a mechanical and electrical safety interlock that prevents the door from being opened until the pressure has reached zero PSI. With a large digital display and fully automatic operation, all segments of the cycle (fill, sterilize, exhaust and dry) commence and run to completion by simply pressing the start button. An optional thermal mini-printer is also available for providing a record of sterilization parameters and a USB drive can be used to record settings and transfer them to a PC. BioClave Mini™ Autoclave Oven: The 8 liter BioClave Mini is preprogrammed to meet basic sterilization needs. Temperature can be selected at either 121°C or 134°C, and the sterilization time is fully adjustable. The economical BioClave Mini is the ideal choice wherever benchtop sterilization is required and space is limited. With similar operation to the BioClave Mini and BioClave 16, the new 28 liter model features an increased chamber size with a diameter of 32cm. With this larger internal chamber, the BioClave 28 is our only model capable of sterilizing 1 and 2 liters flasks (and bottles). Despite the increased chamber size, the unit is still relatively compact, suitable for benchtop use.

| BACTIZAPPER™ TILT MICROSTERILIZER SERIES
The BactiZapper™ TILT Series utilizes the same well-proven technology of our original Bacti-Zapper Classic, but with a unique, adjustable head angle that allows for more convenient sterilization. When loosened, the adjustment knob can be shifted upward or downward, resulting in a tilt angle range of 55°C.
The “XL” model offers an increased chamber diameter of 35mm, making this product more suitable for the sterilization of larger objects, such as tube mouths or flask necks. Both models feature a lower temperature “standby” setting to extend the usable life of the heating element.
| BACTIZAPPER™ RESEARCH STERILIZER
The BactiZapper™ is a research sterilizer that utilizes an asbestos-free core element that uses intense heating to produce 815°C (1500°F). It completely sterilizes in 5-7 seconds. The BactiZapper uses well-proven technology to provide instant sterilization of platinum inoculating loops, glass tube/pipette mouths and various metal & borosilicate glass instruments used in quality control and research. It also has a lower temperature setting (500°C) that can be used as a “standby” and extends usable life.

HIGH-CAPACITY STIRRERS
Benchmark HCS Series of high-capacity stirrers provide reliable performance and safe operation for high throughput lab use. These stirrers feature a durable, chemically resistant white ceramic top plate, which protects the internals of the stirrer from leaks and spills. The powerful motor drive system ensures efficient and thorough mixing in large vessels and viscous samples.
Ideal for large-scale stirring applications, the HCS Series offers 50-liter and 150-liter maximum capacity models, as HCS-50L and HCS-150L respectively. Mixing speed can be viewed on the large digital display, and speed is adjustable from 50 rpm to 1500 rpm (HCS-50L) or 1200 rpm (HCS-150L). The built-in timer settings range from 1 second to 9 hours and include a continuous operation setting.

| MINIMAG™ MINI MAGNETIC STIRRER
With a square footprint of under 5 inches, the MiniMag™ is the most compact stirrer in the Benchmark line. Despite its modest dimensions, the 3.4 inch square work surface accepts a wide variety of beakers, flasks, bottles and other laboratory vessels for stirring volumes as large as 1.5 liters.
The stirring speed is continuously adjustable from 100 to 1500rpm. For temperature sensitive samples, the MiniMag is incubator and cold-room safe for use from +4°C to +45°C.
| ANALOG HOTPLATE STIRRERS
Benchmark hotplates, stirrers and hotplate-stirrers feature an exceptionally durable, chemical resistant white ceramic work surface. Their space-efficient design (8 X 9 in. footprint), makes them ideal for use on crowded benchtops and inside of bio-hoods.
Advanced microprocessor controls with convenient turn knobs allow quick, precise adjustment and maintenance of speed and temperature. Safety indicator LED’s on the front panel indicate when the heating and/or stirring functions have been activated. With a square 7.1 in work surface, all three models are compatible with a wide variety of popular sizes of borosilicate glass beakers, flasks, bottles and other vessels. The hotplate/magnetic stirrer model (H4000-HS) comes complete with a support rod for mounting thermometers and temperature probes.

| BENCHMARK™ OVERHEAD STIRRERS
Benchmark’s Overhead Stirrers feature high torque and advanced digital microprocessor control for smooth mixing of low and medium viscosity samples. Speed and run time are accurately set and monitored on the LCD screen. Both the 20L and 40L capacity models are supplied with a 4 arm stainless steel propeller, additional steel and Teflon accessories are available. A feed-through chuck holds accessory shafts firmly in place and is easily tightened and loosened without tools. The overhead stirrers are protected from damage by sensors that shut down operation in the case of high viscosity or obstruction, while a splash cover protects the connection mechanism from potential corrosion. Unlike most mixers, the Benchmark series is also supplied with a support stand and mounting hardware. The stirrer easily and securely attaches to the stand for compatibility with a variety of vessels, up to 24 inches high.
