BULK BEADS AND PREFILLED KITS
Bead beating is quickly becoming teh preferred process used to break up (lyse) samples in order to release the DNA, RNA and proteins contained within cells. Samples are placed in tubes with the appropriate grinding beads and subjected to high energy mixing. The beads impact the sample, eventually breaking it down on the cellular level releasing subcellular contents.
While glass (silica), zirconium and stainless steel beads are all effective at disrupting cells and tissues. The added density of zirconium and stainless steel beads helps to yield better homogenized samples.
| BEADBUG™ 6 POSITION BEAD HOMOGENIZER
The BeadBug™ is a high energy benchtop homogenizer that sets the performance standard for personal sized cell disruption and lysis instruments.
Developed for samples too tough to be homogenized in a common lab vortexer, the BeadBug provides a convenient and economical alternative to the traditional, over-priced homogenizers on the market today. With up to three tube capacity and a foot print of just 9 x 14″, the BeadBug is the ideal homogenizing instrument for low to medium throughput laboratories.
